Care management is service to provide support and advocacy for clients, helping them to navigate the healthcare system and access necessary services and resources.
Guardianship is a legal relationship in which an appointed guardian is authorized by the Clerk of Superior Court to be a substitute decision maker for an incompetent adult.

CGC certification sets a guardian apart from non-certified guardians as someone who has met nationally recognized requirements, including related education and experience, and passed a competency examination. Certification also provides a comfort level to those responsible for appointing or choosing guardians and healthcare agents for those who need that assistance.
